Peering through the looking glass
Staring down the hole
But we don’t call this place wonderland
So forget all you know
In the age of information
There is so much we can learn
But we just look it up on Google
Never bother to confirm
Libraries are just mausoleums
Of a forgotten time
When people searched for the truth
Simply as a matter of pride
Now we just rely on wiki
With all sources unknown
But still we just accept it
Like it was written in stone
We’ve replaced the requirement
Of a college degree
With meaningless quotes
From our idols of the silver screen
There’s nobody left researching
We want our facts at a glimpse
So welcome to the age of information
And the death of common sense

Lazarus, Come Forth Why did Jesus wait for Lazarus to die?

The story of Lazarus is one that everyone is pretty familiar with. I would suspect that even non-Christians have at least a basic understanding of the story. I have known that story for what seems like my entire life, but it was only recently I noticed a verse and allowed the implications of that verse to really shine a new light on the whole story for me. So, we all know that Lazarus was a close friend of Jesus. Jesus is informed that Lazarus is sick and He responds, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it” (John 11:4). After hearing Jesus say that, I’m sure the disciples assumed that Jesus meant that Lazarus’ illness wasn’t all that serious and that he would soon get over it. Jesus stayed for two more days before telling His disciples it was time to set out for Judea where Lazarus had died.

Sin

Sin; it would seem to be a word that we don’t really talk about or think about very much. It is uncomfortable to talk about as if just thinking about sin is a sin itself. We don’t want anyone focusing on our sins and we don’t want to confront others about their sins, unless we are talking about the sins of a group that we aren’t associated with. Apparently, we only want to talk about sin when it can’t actually help anyone.
